Nigeria Bags 6 Medals in Badminton at 1st African School Games
Team Nigeria has concluded its participation in the badminton event at the maiden African School Games in Algeria with an impressive haul of six medals, made up of two gold, three silver, and one bronze.
The first gold medal came through Precious Oluwagbotemi Adekunle, who showcased exceptional skill, speed, and tactical awareness to overcome her Egyptian opponent in the girls’ singles final.
Shortly afterwards, Edun David Damilare secured Nigeria’s second gold in the boys’ singles, putting on a gritty and determined display to earn a hard-fought victory.
So far, Team Nigeria has amassed a total of eight medals across four sports, comprising two gold, four silver, and two bronze.
Attention now shifts to athletics, which is scheduled to begin today.
