In an exciting U-15 friendly football match held at the Buruj Sports Academy Ground on Wednesday, Ikorodu DFA forced a 1-1 draw against hosts Buruj Sports Academy, ending Buruj’s winning streak over the visitors.

The match kicked off at exactly 4:10 PM, with Buruj Sports Academy initiating play under the watch of match officials. From the onset, both sides displayed impressive technique and tactical awareness, providing the fans in attendance with an entertaining encounter.

Buruj drew first blood at the stroke of halftime (45th minute) after a brilliant move down the right flank. Anjolaoluwa Idowu delivered a creative and penetrative pass into the box, which was clinically finished by Moses Agemo to give the hosts a 1-0 lead going into the break.

The second half resumed promptly at 5:10 PM, with Ikorodu DFA starting the play. The visitors immediately stepped up the pressure, pushing hard for an equalizer. Just two minutes into the half (47th minute), they were awarded a penalty after Buruj defender Destiny Daniel was penalized for a handball inside the box. However, the chance to level the score was squandered as the penalty was missed.

Despite the missed opportunity, Ikorodu DFA maintained their attacking intensity. Their persistence paid off in the 70th minute when a parried save by Buruj goalkeeper Edet fell kindly to Ridwan Adekunle inside the box. Buruj’s defense failed to clear the danger, resulting in another penalty, this time successfully converted by Adekunle to bring the game level.

The final whistle blew after 90 minutes of entertaining football, with both teams sharing the spoils at 1-1. Although Buruj Sports Academy had previously secured two victories over Ikorodu DFA, the visitors showed resilience and determination to avoid a third defeat.
