Golden Eaglets Begin WAFU B U-17 Campaign Against Benin

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will open their 2025 WAFU B U-17 Championship campaign on Wednesday with a Group B fixture against Benin Republic at the Stade du Lycee Scientifique in Yamoussoukro.

Benin, who fell 1-0 to Burkina Faso in their opening game on Sunday, face the risk of an early exit should they suffer another defeat.

The WAFU B U-17 Championship doubles as the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, from which Africa’s representatives at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar will emerge.

The Golden Eaglets finished in third place at the previous edition and will be aiming for an improved performance this time around.
